BIRDLIFE OVERBERG MONTHLY TALK ON MONDAY 11 JULY
TOPIC: Birding opportunities in the Langeberg local municipal region
Anton will highlight birding opportunities in and around the towns of Robertson, McGregor, Bonnievale and Montagu. Some of the destinations to be discussed include Buitenstekloof, the Klaasvoogds region, Riverton Stud, the Montagu Nature Garden and the Ouberg Pass. Emphasis will be placed on several species usually associated with the Great Karoo to be found much closer to Hermanus – think of Karoo Eremomela, Karoo Long-billed Lark, Mountain and Karoo chats and many more. This is certainly a hugely underrated birding area and needs to be explored seriously as it is in close proximity to us.
