This is merely a provisional list of dates and details of these will be confirmed closer to the dates. Note that all the monthly meeting events can be held either via Zoom or at an open meeting at Mollergren Park. The format of these events is still to be determined and could, of course, be influenced by COVID-19 and government regulations.


• World Migratory Bird Day – Saturday 14 May

  • Morning birding walk - Wednesday 11 May: Appel se Dam and the Wandelpad in Stanford
  • Monthly meeting – Monday 23 May: Dr Odette Curtis-Scott to speak on the conservation efforts of the Overberg Renosterveld Conservation Trust

• Morning outing – Saturday 28 May: We visit Witkrans, the Uilenkraal Estuary and the Danger Point Peninsula in the Gansbaai district

• International Day of Biological Diversity – Sunday 22 May (A visit to Odette Curtis’s farm and project so that they can tell us about progress with renosterveld rehabilitation?)

• BirdLife South Africa Annual General Meeting – Saturday 28 May

• World Environment Day – Sunday 5 June

• World Oceans Day – Wednesday 8 June (A visit to the Dyer Island Conservation Trust?)

• Monthly meeting – Monday 13 June: Presentation by a club member

• Morning outing – Saturday 25 June: Destination to be confirmed

• Monthly meeting – Monday 11 July: Presentation by a guest speaker

• The African Bird Fair – Friday 22 to Saturday 23 July

• Morning outing – Saturday 23 July: Destination to be confirmed

• Monthly meeting – Monday 15 August: Several members celebrating vulture is support of International Vulture Awareness Day

• Morning outing – Saturday 27 August: Destination to be confirmed (The annual “canola outing” along the Riviersonderend river towards Greyton is always a huge success?)

• International Vulture Awareness Day – Saturday 3 September. (A visit to the De Hoop colony?)

• Monthly meeting – Monday 12 September: Presentation by a club member

• Morning outing on International Coastal Clean-up Day – Saturday 17 September

• BirdLife South Africa Owl Awards – Tuesday 20 September.

• Monthly meeting – Monday 10 October: Presentation by a guest speaker

• Morning outing – Saturday 29 October: Destination to be confirmed

• Monthly meeting – Monday 14 November: Several members discussing their favourite images of the year as a year-end function

• Morning outing – Saturday 19 November: Destination to be confirmed

• BirdLife South Africa Birding Big Day – Saturday 3 December. (We organize an Overberg-wide event similar to the one done in 2021).
