'INTRODUCTORY BIRD IDENTIFICATION AND APPRECIATION COURSE’

We have been requested to repeat this introductory bird identification and appreciation course in view of getting more people involved in the wonderful world of birds and birding. Kindly forward this announcement to your friends and colleagues who possibly want to get involved in this fascinating hobby.

This first course focuses on the basic steps in getting involved in birds and birding as well as introducing the birds to be found in one’s immediate surroundings. Garden birds and some waterbirds are introduced and ideas are shared on how to attract birds to the garden. Basic clues on the identification of birds are provided and anecdotal information on their survival skills is shared. Basic notes are forwarded to participants electronically – this also includes information on getting involved in conservation actions and joining a local bird club and BirdLife South Africa. The talks are forwarded with WeTransfer on the dates advertised to be enjoyed in your own time in the comfort of your home. Note that the talks need to be viewed within 7 days.
