MORNING OUTING TO GREYTON

Posted on the 14th May 2006

GREYTON – On Saturday 14 May 2006 we investigated birding opportunities in the town of Greyton. Birding in the town itself is great, but it is the nature reserve that compares favorably with other top destinations such as Harold Porter, Caledon Botanical Gardens and Helderberg. The highlight of the day was large flocks of Cape Siskins that were found in a burnt piece of fynbos – none of us have seen such large numbers of these birds before. We were so impressed with birding in this village that we decided to put a full day outing there on our permanent calender as from next year.
