STEVE PECK BIRDS IN THE SOUTHERN PARTS OF KRUGER

Posted on the 18th August 2018

Lee Peck participated in the Skukuza half marathon giving Steve the opportunity to come back with yet another fine selection of bird images from the park. Some of his images are also being incorporated into the photo gallery of club members received during August. Enjoy! - Ed.)

Trip Report to KNP – August 2018-08-17

Lee and I flew into Skukuza airport in the Kruger NP for a trip of a lifetime…well it was for Lee as she was running in the Kruger half marathon, and part of which is out into the bush!

If she survived the plan was to spend a few extra days birding around the area not only based at Skukuza but at Biyamiti bush camp and finally Berg-en-dal camp site.

So after anxiously waiting at the finish line (life insurance in pocket!) Lee came running around the corner…made it…well done; now we can go birding!!

19 lifers later and over 130 species recorded, we agreed it had been a fantastic trip…as we both ended up with lifers!!

Here are some of the images taken by us around those camps and dirt roads…..

Very well done Lee!
