SWALLOW-TAILED BEE-EATERS IN SIMON'S TOWN

For all keen Western Cape listers, Bruce Dyer has just called in to let me know that he is currently watching 2 SWALLOW-TAILED BEE-EATERS at Seaforth in Simon’s Town. They are apparently hawking insects from some gum trees between the car park and sports field near the naval building there. This is an incredibly rare species in the province with only a small handful of previous records.

Good luck if you are planning on chasing them!

Kind regards.
