LAZY CISTICOLA AT NATURE'S VALLEY

Posted on the 25th June 2014

Daniël Cloete, one of the more recent birders to join BirdlIfe Plettenberg Bay, noticed an unusual Cisticola on the marshy areas of de Vasselot Camp in Nature's Valley yesterday, which he strongly suspected was a Lazy Cisticola. The bird also continually flicked its tail like a Prinia. After the ringing session with Mark Brown of Nature's Valley Trust this morning, Daniel took us to the vlei area where he saw the bird. We were fortunate to find two individuals in the same area.
This is only the second positive record of this bird in the Plett area. Well done Daniël Cloete
