OUTING TO STORMS RIVER GOLF COURSE

Posted on the 8th September 2012

Outing to Storms River Golf Course: – Gareth Robbins and Don Hogg

We left Shell Ultra at 08.10 in slightly overcast conditions and met up with the balance of the group at 09.00 at the SANP turn-off to Storms River. Bob and Louise Reed, who were leading the group, advised that the normal access road was flooded in parts and took us into the golf course on the back road alongside Vernon Scheepers farm. The overcast conditions had cleared and with little or no wind, the morning was set for good birding.

Bob and Louise guided us around the various paths, stopping at interesting spots and ensuring that none of us got lost. The outing ended at one of the small lakes where we had a snack lunch.

The club extends its thanks to Bob and Louise for leading us and providing Pentad maps of the area.
