‘20 Days Birding around the Kingdom of Lesotho’ by Carin Malan

“Come and join me on a photographic journey of 20 days through 6 of our 9 provinces, around the Kingdom of Lesotho. Experience the magic of the Karoo, the majestic Bearded Vultures of Giants Castle, the avian richness of the towns of Memel and Wakkerstroom and the little known Itlala Game Reserve for its unique ecological intersection of various habitat types with over 300 bird species. Let’s not forget about the Karkloof conservancy in Howick, enjoying all three crane species of SA. A visit to the secretive Benvie Garden (circa 1836) was a highlight. Join me surviving Sani Pass (thanks goodness that is done and dusted)! We also feature the last few days in the Eastern Cape at the Mountain Zebra National Park looking for a very elusive courser.”

Zoom presentation at 19h00: Kindly forward an email to if you want to participate and if you are not yet on any of our address lists. The invitation link, etc will be forwarded to all by 13h00 on Monday 13 July. Please join the meeting early and from 18h40 onwards as we are expecting a huge turnout. This is certainly a talk not to be missed.

These magnificent images by Carin just give some idea of the quality of photography and discussions on sought-after species that could be expected during this presentation:
