Happening from the 25th July 2020 to 26th July 2020

The contents of the ‘Flight for Birders’, ‘Flight Higher’ and ‘The Secret Life of Raptors’ courses by Dr Anton Odendal have been adapted for six shorter courses each consisting of five individual one-hour sessions. These are being presented as online webinars via Zoom and can be enjoyed in the comfort of your home.

The first course is being repeated by popular demand and focuses on the basic steps in getting involved in this fascinating hobby as well as introducing the birds to be found in one’s immediate surroundings. Garden birds and some water birds are introduced and ideas are shared on how to attract birds to the garden. Basic clues on the identification of birds are provided and anecdotal information on their survival skills is shared. Basic notes are forwarded to participants electronically – this also includes information on getting involved in conservation actions and joining a local bird club. A percentage of the course’s income will be donated to BirdLife Overberg’s CleanMarine campaign on the conservation of our coastal birds.

The course is being presented over a weekend as several requests for this had been received, The contents and dates of presentation are as follows:

SESSION 1: INTRODUCTION ON GETTING THE MOST OUT OF BIRDING – Basic principles to our approach and how to start identifying a bird: Saturday 25 July at 09h00

If this course becomes available at any other time of the day before 6pm or in a recorded manner, I would be very interested, thanks

Ek het jare terug 'n naweek-voelkursus by die Weskus Nasionale Park bygewoon. Anton Odendaal het groot dele daarvan aangebied. Hy is uitstekend.

Is this course available at any other time or in a recorded format. 7pm is family/supper time, and is the only time our family comes together.
