BIRDLIFE OVERBERG MONTHLY TALK - “INGLORIOUS BUSTARDS - THE CRAZY GANG IN TROUBLE”.
Happening on the 3rd June 2019
"Inglorious Bustards - The Crazy Gang in Trouble" by Anton Odendal
There is grave concern about the conservation status of our bustards and korhane. This talk explores some of the reasons for the dramatic decline in numbers of several of these species and also highlights identification features of potentially confusing species. Notes on these differences will be handed out at the talk. Most importantly, many of the strange and often bizar behaviour patterns, calls and displays of the males during breeding season will be illustrated. Many researchers believe that this very behaviour increases the family's vulnerability.
Don’t miss out on this one and remember to reserve your spot with Helé.
