Happening from the 21st October 2017 to 9th December 2017
Antonio Da Sylva-Swart gave a compelling presentation on marine litter at our monthly meeting on Monday. During this he emphasised that much help is needed to keep our beaches and rocky shores clean. It was recommended that we as a club also get involved in this and that we clean up a section of our coastline once a month. We have provisionally decided to do so along the shore beyond Vermont between Brekfisbaai and the Raimondo House. This section also has the benefit of wonderful birdlife. Kindly note that we could also tackle other areas if there is enough interest - maybe two or three teams working in different areas?
The following dates have been set for the next 3 months:
Saturday 21 October
Friday 17 November (Anton and Elaine are not available on any Saturday during the month)
Saturday 9 December
It will be appreciated if you all would consider participating in these exciting events as these efforts will contribute significantly to the conservation of birds and their habitats in our region. Final arrangements for the first cleanup on 21 October will be forwarded as soon as we know how many members will participate. Kindly confirm your availability with Elaine at firstname.lastname@example.org or 082 455 8402.
