INTERNATIONAL BIODIVERSITY DAY WALK
AGULHAS NATIONAL PARK
BERGPLAAS TO RIETFONTEIN GRAVEL ROAD
The United Nations proclaimed May 22 the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. Agulhas NP will celebrate this day on May 25.
You are hereby invited to take part in a walk along the northern slope of Soetanysberg to experience the unique fynbos diversity.
DISTANCE: 11 km
DATE & TIME: 25 May, 8:00, Meet at Struisbaai church
FINISH: Rietfontein gravel road
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO AND BRING:
· Refreshments for the day
· Insect repellent
· Hat & walking shoes
· Assistance with transport please. Participants must be dropped off at the start and fetched at the Rietfontein gravel road about 3 to 4 hours later.
· Drivers and other birders can do birding at Melkbospan or enjoy the fynbos around the western foot of Soetanysberg.
