The Piesang Valley Lodge is set in fifteen acres of lush vegetation and borders on the Plettenberg Bay Golf and Country Club. It is owner run and in close proximity to beaches and the town centre. It features six comfortable log cabin style bedrooms with its own entrances, private balconies and offers breathtaking views across the valley and on to the Indian Ocean. Each room is well appointed and includes either twin or queen size beds with Percale cotton linen, satellite TV, wireless internet, tea tray, hairdryers and safes. A laundry service, braai facilities and secure under cover parking are available. Leisurely farm style breakfasts are served. Transfers to and from the Plettenberg Bay airport can be arranged. The Lodge serves as an ideal base from which to explore the bird-watching delights of Plettenberg Bay and surrounding areas. The Plettenberg Bay Country Club and Global Village are two prime birding destination within walking distance. Species found regularly on the golf course include BLACK-COLLARED BARBET, CAPE BATIS, GIANT, MALACHITE and PIED KINGFISHERS, AFRICAN OLIVE-PIGEON, GREEN WOOD-HOOPOE and KNYSNA and OLIVE WOODPECKERS. Forest habitats and thickets should be scrutinised for TERRESTRIAL BROWNBUL, FOREST CANARY, OLIVE BUSH-SHRIKE, BLACK CUCKOOSHRIKE, TAMBOURINE DOVE, BLUE-MANTLED CRESTED-FLYCATCHER, CHORISTER ROBIN-CHAT, the secretive NARINA TROGON, KNYSNA TURACO, the much sought-after KNYSNA WARBLER and YELLOW-THROATED WOODLAND-WARBLER. Summer migrants could include AFRICAN EMERALD, BLACK, DIDERICK and RED-CHESTED CUCKOOS and AFRICAN PARADISE-FLYCATCHER. Keep in mind that all of these species could potentially be seen on the Piesang Valley Lodge property as well.

Global Village also deserves attention. It features small dams, a central reed bed with a colony of CAPE WEAVERS, and a bird hide. Sit back and enjoy a great meal at Earth Café, while watching species such as BAR-THROATED APALIS, BLACK CRAKE, SOUTHERN BOUBOU, OLIVE BUSH-SHRIKE, WHITE-FACED and YELLOW-BILLED DUCKS, PURPLE HERON, BLACK-HEADED ORIOLE, COMMON MOORHEN, CAPE ROBIN-CHAT, LITTLE RUSH-WARBLER, AMETHYST and GREATER DOUBLE-COLLARED SUNBIRDS, LESSER SWAMP-WARBLER and KNYSNA TURACO.
